Cup Cakes I have made.

Gun Cupcakes
These were for a co-worker of mine. He is real gun-nut. His cup cake was the top row 4th in. I was trying to make "Glocks" out of fondant and a razor blade. For the last one I decided ti make him a "Dirty Harry" gun.
 Firefighter Cupcakes
These were for my Son in Laws Birthday

 Fishing Basket Cupcakes
These were for my Brothers Birthday.
*I cant take the credit for these...I found them by Googling*

 "Jail Cupcakes"
These were for a Co-Worker who was getting a promotion at work.

 Hunter cupcakes
These were for my Dad on his Birthday.
 Missionary Cupcakes
These were for my Son just before he left on his Mission. The ties were made outof Fondant. I was going to put fondant decorations on them but my Husband just went to the pantry and grabbed "sprinkles". Hey...what do you know....it worked!

 Wedding Cupcakes
These were the prototype cupcakes I came up with for my Daughters wedding.

 Shark Cupcakes
These were from the book "Hello Cupcake". These were hard to make and when I woke up in the morning....most of them were decapitated :(

 St. Patricks day Cupcakes

 Hiking Cupcakes
These were for a co-worker. She loves nature. I made the trees out of Bugles dipped in green frosting.

Hot Cocoa Bar

I wanted to do a "Hot Cocoa Bar" at work. The morning were getting colder and colder...so I thought this would be a good idea. Some of my co-workers wanted to bring danishes and other bakery items. Our little Hot Cocoa Bar grew into a breakfast bar.

I did not get any pictures of "before' These were pictures one of my co worker took in the during phase. We had carafes of hot water, then the table was set with:

mini marshmallows, pumpkin pie spice flavored marshmallows (Wal-Mart also carries strawberry, chocolate swirl, and toasted coconut marshmallows.) crushed toffee pieces, crushed candy canes, crushed Oreo cookies, and crushed Andes mints. We also had different flavored whipped creams and coffee flavorings. The Hot Cocoas were anywhere from fat free, sugar free, white chocolate, peppermint hot cocoa, and dark hot chocolate.

It was a very nice way to start our early morning.

This was my masterpiece!
Regular Hot Cocoa, about 4 pumpkin pie spice marshmallows (even shaped like pumpkins), whipped cream, toffee pieces, and topped off with some caramel drizzle and 1 final pumpkin pie spice marshmallow. I almost felt like I was having a "cocktail" at work. Everyone talked about what a great idea it was and how we all enjoyed it. This is for sure a "do again" next time.....I will get better pictures.

Baking a Cherpumple

A Cherpumple is a:

Cherry pie baked into a white cake
Apple pie baked into a spice cake
Pumpkin pie baked into a yellow cake.

First off let me say...this took about 6 hours of baking time. A very frustrating 6 six hours of  cooking time. The very top of the cake would not cook through. I think the pies in the middle were just too dense. Each cake took about 60 minutes to cook through. The sides getting very brown. You start by cooking all frozen pies according to package directions. I researched online before baking this monster. If I was ever to cook it again (which I highly doubt) I would cook all the pies the day before and let cool to room temperature.

I used 9" cake pans to bake them in. Cover the bottom of a heavily Pam sprayed pan with cake batter prepared according to the package directions (I always use milk when it calls for water...I think it is moister) place the cooked, cooled pie upside down in the cake pan on top of the cake batter. Cover the rest of the pie with cake batter. (you will have some cake batter left over...do not fill all the way tot he top..it will spill over while baking.) This begins the LONG cooking process. Each pie/cake took about an hour. When they were done baking. I let them sit for a while before taking them out of the pan. I read several people say that their fell apart while taking them out of the pan. I was pretty nervous about that. I put then right into the fridge. I wanted them to hold together and I figured if I could cool the centers off...they would hold together better. I assembled it about an hour before we ate it...once again worrying about it falling apart. I used a VERY sharp knife to slice it and the pieces turned out great. When you get to only having half of the cake left....it wants to fall over. I would say just slice the remaining slices.
Now for taste: I wasn't impressed. It was a whole lot of sweetness and denseness. I would not make it again. I might do a 2 layer cherry pie baked into a chocolate pie for my son when he returns from his Mission. I think even frosting it with chocolate frosting would it give a Black forest cake feeling. I think it was a challenge to try at least once!! I can cross it off my bucket list and look for the NEXT monster item to bake!
